CHARISM
The Charism of our Institute left to us by our Founder Mother Anna Huberta Roggendorf is “to take Jesus’ love and message to those who are not reached by the ordinary channels of Church institutions, who are unable to find their own way to a fuller, human and Christian life if they are left alone. It is for us to go out, to share their life, to teach and to guide, to bring peace and hope to those who are helpless and uncared for”. Thus, we avoid having big institutions and we live among the people in simple houses. We provide our sisters the necessary academic studies and professional training. It is our desire, like Jesus and His mother, to live in simplicity and speak the language of the people so that, Jesus through us becomes present in the midst of the poor and suffering.
NATURE
The Institute of the Helpers of Mary is a Religious Institute of Pontifical Right. The Generalate is based in Shraddha Vihar, Veera Desai Road, Andheri West, Mumbai, India.
The sisters pronounce public vows of consecrated Chastity, Poverty and Obedience. The sisters dedicate themselves to the assistance of the poor and helpless in India and abroad in a truly evangelical spirit according to the universal law of the Church and these Constitutions.
